The first-Beating Goliath by Art Briles and Don Yaeger. Art Briles' story resonated with me because of his intentional approach of not following the crowd and overcoming a personal tragedy at a young age. This tragedy shaped him to become a stronger person with a life purpose to do good for society.
The 2nd book I read recommended to me by my good friend, Ryan Redondo, was unbelievable! Force of Nature by Laird Hamilton is a deep look into his unique and astounding philosophy. Laird is the best big wave surfer in the world and an innovator. His philosophy is unique and astounding. Imagine surfing a wave that can kill you!
The 3rd book I read-Days of Grace by Arthur Ashe is a story of more than a tennis player. It tells the story of a remarkable social activist who wasn't afraid to speak up for justice when it might cost him professionally and financially.
Yesterday we went to Powells Book Store in Portland, OR, and it reinvigorated me to read the books on my shelf. I love bookstores and books. Powells was amazing! It is a city block!
